Why Morning Lessons?

Players are provided an opportunity to fix bad habits they might develop on their own during their club hockey seasons.

Group Lessons 5:15-6:15am, 6:15-7:15am, and 7:15-8:15am

Private Lessons 8:15am - 12:15pm

Group Lessons

Players who participate in early morning group lessons focus primarily on improving their tight-space cognitive reaction, skating, and lateral speed. The curriculum is designed to magnify & challenge players’ general offensive & defensive preparedness to get them ready for higher playing levels when they’re older. Players are typically given an opportunity to push themselves to improve upon their new learned skills as fast or as slow as they choose. Players who partake in morning group lesson training are usually organized into groups based on age & ability.

Private Lessons

Players who participate in early morning private lessons focus primarily on improving their single-leg balance and long range skating with pucks. The private lesson curriculum is highlighted by an increased emphasis on resistance work and overspeed training.

Skills, Tactics & Concepts

Players quickly learn how enjoyable it can be to progress through the STEP Curriculum. STEP even has its own language to help players learn difficult skills and concepts over time. With a full comprehension of the language and terminologies, players become better equipped to make their own fixes in real time during their own pressure-packed games, a gratifying feeling to say the least.

Our Teaching Philosophy

Players are held accountable for their actions as they progress through the STEP Curriculum, regardless of their age or playing ability. Our players find pleasure in working through their weekly skills training at a high intensity level.

Learn How to Learn

The intensity and competitiveness of the club hockey season can lead to players developing bad habits. We often teach players to relearn how to learn the simplest of skills so they have a proper foundation in which to continue to build upon.

Learn How to Train

After players have refocused, and relearned what a proper skill & technique foundation looks like, they can up the intensity during the controlled morning lesson setting.

Train the Fundamentals

Particular skills need to be executed at different speeds while training. We specifically tailor each private or group lesson training plan so players understand their training goals along the way. Our instructors constantly reenforce the end goal of each hockey specific movement performed along the way.
